SSD & Fan “hacks” worth doing | A4-H2O | Phanteks T30

So I wanted to see if I can do something more with my H2O PC. I did some research and learned about some “hacks” other people did that I thought are worth doing so I wanted to share it here. Most of these are pretty straightforward with a few challenges but I believe these are worth doing nonetheless. Let me know what you think! What if you built a 240mm open bottom stand, mounted two normal case fans in it in intake position, and set the pc on top of it? This way you could have proper intake on bottom, and exhaust on top. Especially if you leave off the bottom panel.

    • @Jelvin

    By any chance do you know if you can remove the top M2 layers to increase CPU cooler compatability? I've seen mixed reviews with some people saying if you remove layers and just put a M2 in the bottom spot it won't read. I wanna use a Black Ridge cooler and from what I can see the only way it'd fit is by removing those top M2 layers.

    • @Jelvin
      @Jelvin 4 місяці тому

      AFAIK, the top most cooling unit has some sockets to the daughterboard for the cooling so I'm not sure if that restricts the whole component from working. IMO, you're better off getting a motherboard with an SSD socket from the behind instead of something that has a daughterboard for the M2's

    hey jelvin, i got a quick question. I am tranfering my drives from my current atx pc. I have 2 sata ssds, 2 nvmes, and one 3.5in hdd. My satas are 2tb each, nvmes are 500 and 1tb, and my 3.5in is 4tb. I wanna keep my 4tb, and i was wondering if there was enough clearance underneath the gpu, cause im running a rtx 2060 super. I might actually use the ssd brackets that u had reviewed in ur hacks video. But if there is enough height clearance, between the base of the case and the underside of the vertically mounted gpu, is it theoretically possible to both dual mount the ssds with the bracket, and friction hold the 3.5in? Cause i think if it is feasible, then the 3.5in can also double as a stabilizer/vertical gpu mount sag guard by adding more stability.

    • @Jelvin
      @Jelvin 10 місяців тому

      I don't think that the 3.5in HDD would fit unless you have a short card i.e. an ITX card. There wouldn't be any other clearance for an HDD apart from the compartment where the GPU is so I'm not sure if all of your components will fit. :( The HDD will be a bit to big for the components to friction fit at the front I believe so unless it's a smaller card, the best you can do is the have the HDD stand beside the GPU which I don't really advise.

      Unfortunately, I'm not sure if there's a way to mount any fans on top of the RAM sticks unless you're going for an air cooled build i.e. putting a thin radiator and fan combo on the CPU :( You technically only have the bracket at the top for fans and the fan at the bottom will only be a little effective if you have custom cables.
